Conversations with Family and Professional Caregivers in Northern New Mexico

The New Mexico Direct Caregivers Coalition wants to hear from family and professional caregivers about challenges and solutions in caring for clients and family members. Join us this Friday for one of two Listening Sessions in northern New Mexico:

We need to hear from New Mexico caregivers about issues in the workplace, resources you need and solutions you have. Examples of topics wil include:

  • Education, training and credentialing
  • JOBS for caregivers
  • Respect and recognition in the workplace
  • Wages and benefits
  • Resources for caregivers on health promotion and long-term care insurance
  • How the Affordable Care Act impacts caregivers
  • Developing a statewide policy agenda for caregivers
  • State Senators, State Representatives, public officials and representatives of the national Direct Care Alliance will attend

All are welcome! Target audience includes family and unpaid caregivers and professional and wage-earning caregivers who serve persons who are elderly and/or those with disabilities. Care recipients also urged to attend as are family members, friends and advocates of caregivers.

This event is free but pre-registration is required
